Question for Career Theologians: |
Mechanical obediance might be possible and for some long time sustainable, but is love possible between a completely transcendent god and a completely predestined man? |
And yet surely the lack of any love between Muhammad's Allah and Muhammad's Allah's men is mutual: |
The Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And the Lord was sorry that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him to his heart. |

Regretably, though Christianity and Islam are both often described as Abrahamic religions, and though both Christians and Muslims agree that there is only one God — ... [T]he God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob ... — the "god" one encounters in the Qur'an, is so fundamentally and radically different from the one and only God — the Triune God, eternally Father, Son and Holy Ghost — who revealed Himself to humankind and whose statements and deeds are recorded in the Bible and elsewhere, it is not possible to conclude that Christians and Muslims are worshiping the same god, the endless attempts of religious indifferentists, syncretics and assorted Islamophiles to do so notwithstanding.
It should be made clear at the outset that this present effort is a short story only, intended to be read in one sitting. It consists of the present webpage and a sister webpage in which the entire Qur'an is presented in four English-language translations with some brief chapter summary comments. Of course the entire Qur'an will not be read in one sitting. But perhaps even in one sitting it would also be possible to manage also a look at the table of contents and the overall structure of the book, irrefutably the most important in Islam, a religion that has been with humankind since 610 and which in early 2015 claims up to c. 1,600,000,000 adherents, maybe more, 22 percent of global population, and growing. Please remember, Islam is not our topic. The re-unification of the Orthodox, Oriental Orthodox and Catholic Churches into the Orthodox-Catholic Church is. For those readers desiring a treatise-length treatment of Islam, even an encyclopedic exhaustive examination, libraries for centuries and more recently book stores have been filled with the writings of Christians and others who have made Islam their area of specialized expertise. More recently there are Internet resources, the best of which are more comparable in breadth and depth of scholarship to a specialized encyclopedia than to the thickest of single tomes. Indeed there are several specialized websites on Islam that have been in development by scores or even hundreds of contributors over this past decade, and that can readily be said to exceed in breath and depth any study previously undertaken. The foregoing said, if the princes and presidents, the professors and prelates of our own times had even so much knowledge as is presented in our present short story, the outlook for Christendom and Christian families over the coming decades would be very much different and and very much better, this on the assumption that in individual cases the problem is lack of knowledge and not elected active agency for evil. More importantly still, an additional obstacle to the holy re-unification of the Orthodox-Catholic Church would not have been erected. |

solve adequately the great problem of reconciling the Aristotelian posit of the world's eternity with the Christian truth, adopted by Islam, that the world is created by God. Averroes' solution, that the world was both eternal and created, his Doctrine of Two Truths, which doctrine was also to take the appellation of Averroes — labelled Averroism and condemned by the Angelic Doctor, Saint Thomas Aquinas (* 1225 – 1274 †), in his De unitate intellectus contra Averroistas — violates basic laws of thought, more specifically, the law of non-contradiction, which holds that two or more contradictory statements cannot both be true in the same sense at the same time. Such violation of reason, and with reason of the order of God's universe, lead to the proposition, embraced in the Ash'arism school of Sunni Islam, that the unaided human mind is unable to discern good from evil. Note though that Abu al-Hasan al-Ash'ari lived and died earlier than Averroes – Ibn Rushd. Ash'ari died in 936 AD. Islam's war against reason is older than Averroes – Ibn Rushd, but Ibn Rushd helped anti-reason, war against Divine Logos, to triumph in Islam. Christians agree that God transcends man (and every creature, and all creation), that He Is transcendent. But the notion that God is not reasonable — only an omnipotent will to be submitted to — is not Christian.
God as pure Will, not characterized by reason, capricious and contradictory at will, and you man, just submit; iSLaM = submission.

O People of the Scripture! Do not exaggerate in your religion nor utter aught concerning Allah save the truth. The Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, was only a messenger of Allah, and His word which He conveyed unto Mary, and a spirit from Him. So believe in Allah and His messengers, and say not "Three" - Cease! (it is) better for you! - Allah is only One Allah. Far is it removed from His Transcendent Majesty that He should have a son. His is all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth. And Allah is sufficient as Defender. |

Whoever joins other gods with Allah,- Allah will forbid him the garden, and the Fire will be his abode. There will for the wrong-doers be no one to help. They do blaspheme who say: Allah is one of three in a Trinity: for there is no god except One Allah. If they desist not from their word (of blasphemy), verily a grievous penalty will befall the blasphemers among them. Why turn they not to Allah, and seek His forgiveness? For Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. Christ the son of Mary was no more than a messenger; many were the messengers that passed away before him. His mother was a woman of truth. They had both to eat their (daily) food. See how Allah doth make His signs clear to them; yet see in what ways they are deluded away from the truth! |

Muslim denial of Trinitarian Truth - As Muslims (absurdly) misunderstood Christian Trinitarian doctrine on the Godhead as meaning God, Jesus and Mary, so one finds here both heresy and that which is further than heresy, complete denial of Trinitarian Truth, exposing the flaw in the conclusion that Islam is merely a Christian heresy: |
And when Allah saith: O Jesus, son of Mary! Didst thou say unto mankind: Take me and my mother for two gods beside Allah? he saith: Be glorified! It was not mine to utter that to which I had no right. If I used to say it, then Thou knewest it. Thou knowest what is in my mind, and I know not what is in Thy Mind. Lo! Thou, only Thou, art the Knower of Things Hidden? |

Qur'an 5:116 - translation by Marmaduke Pickthall
(P) |
And note also here that this Verse 5:116 supplies one of the most key proofs in all of the Qur'an and Islam that Muhammad's "revelation" was not from God. The key Trinitarian doctrines had been authoritatively defined by the Church at the First Ecumenical Council (Nicea I) in 325 and the Second Ecumenical Council (Constantinople I) in 381. God would obviously know this, as He knows everything. So if God intended to inform mankind, the world and the universe through Muhammad in the early 7th century that the Church had gotten it all wrong, that He, God, was not Triune, not eternally Father, Son and Holy Ghost, as the Church had then been teaching and a huge swath of mankind — Christians — had been believing for centuries, then He, God, would not have refuted that which was not taught, that Jesus and Mary were the other two "gods". |

Muslim denial of Christological Truth must be understood together with Muhammad's denial of Trinitarian Truth. Of course Muhammad did not understand and would not have been involved in disputes about the nature(s) and will(s) of Jesus the Christ to what extent Christian infighting in the 4th, 5th and 6th centuries created a (more) fertile ground for the expansion of Muhammad's ideas and soldiers is another matter. |

Luckily for all orthodox-catholic Christians, the Catechism of the Catholic Church and other authoritative pronouncements have been sufficiently vague such that the enemies of the Church, the Fifth Column within Her, have not yet succeeded in undermining orthodoxy, though their struggle continues.
Catechism of the Catholic Church ¶ 841: "The Church's relationship with the Muslims. 'The plan of salvation also includes those who acknowledge the Creator, in the first place amongst whom are the Muslims; these profess to hold the faith of Abraham, and together with us they adore the one, merciful God, mankind's judge on the last day.'"
"But the plan of salvation also includes those who acknowledge the Creator. In the first place amongst these there are the Mohammedans, who, professing to hold the faith of Abraham, along with us adore the one and merciful God, who on the last day will judge mankind." - from Lumen Gentium, but those quoting this central Vatican II document would do well to remember the rest of Paragraph 16 (and the entire document): "Nor does Divine Providence deny the helps necessary for salvation to those who, without blame on their part, have not yet arrived at an explicit knowledge of God and with His grace strive to live a good life. Whatever good or truth is found amongst them is looked upon by the Church as a preparation for the Gospel.(20*) She knows that it is given by Him who enlightens all men so that they may finally have life. But often men, deceived by the Evil One, have become vain in their reasonings and have exchanged the truth of God for a lie, serving the creature rather than the Creator.(129) Or some there are who, living and dying in this world without God, are exposed to final despair. Wherefore to promote the glory of God and procure the salvation of all of these, and mindful of the command of the Lord, "Preach the Gospel to every creature",(130) the Church fosters the missions with care and attention."
Yes, The plan of salvation includes the Muslims: that they should and must accept and follow Christ as the Messiah of God, the Second Person of the Holy and Eternal Trinity, the only begotten Son of God and therefore also that they, the Muslims, abandon the patently erroneous notion that Muhammad is a man of God, much less His supreme, final and definitive prophet. Muhammad was a charlatan and a fraud, a self-seeking, self-serving sensualist, a mercenary murderer, an arch deceiver. Orthodox, Catholic and Oriental Orthodox patriarchs and saints, doctors of the Church, have been unanimous on this throughout the history of the Church. |

Y: Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book [People of the Book = Christians and Jews], until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued. The Jews call 'Uzair a son of Allah, and the Christians call Christ the son of Allah. That is a saying from their mouth; (in this) they but imitate what the unbelievers of old used to say. Allah's curse be on them: how they are deluded away from the Truth!
P: Fight against such of those who have been given the Scripture [Christians and Jews are meant] as believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, and forbid not that which Allah hath forbidden by His messenger, and follow not the Religion of Truth, until they pay the tribute readily, being brought low. And the Jews say: Ezra is the son of Allah, and the Christians say: The Messiah is the son of Allah. That is their saying with their mouths. They imitate the saying of those who disbelieved of old. Allah (Himself) fighteth against them. How perverse are they!
S: Fight those who do not believe in Allah, nor in the latter day, nor do they prohibit what Allah and His Messenger have prohibited, nor follow the religion of truth, out of those who have been given the Book [Christians and Jews], until they pay the tax in acknowledgment of superiority and they are in a state of subjection. And the Jews say: Uzair is the son of Allah; and the Christians say: The Messiah is the son of Allah; these are the words of their mouths; they imitate the saying of those who disbelieved before; may Allah destroy them; how they are turned away!
A. Fight those who believe not in God and the Last Day and do not forbid what God and His Messenger have forbidden -- such men as practise not the religion of truth, being of those who have been given the Book [Christians and Jews]-- until they pay the tribute out of hand and have been humbled. 253. In order to sustain dialogue with Islam, suitable training is essential for all involved, not only so that they can be solidly and joyfully grounded in their own identity, but so that they can also acknowledge the values of others, appreciate the concerns underlying their demands and shed light on shared beliefs. We Christians should embrace with affection and respect Muslim immigrants to our countries in the same way that we hope and ask to be received and respected in countries of Islamic tradition. I ask and I humbly entreat those countries to grant Christians freedom to worship and to practice their faith, in light of the freedom which followers of Islam enjoy in Western countries! Faced with disconcerting episodes of violent fundamentalism, our respect for true followers of Islam should lead us to avoid hateful generalisations, for authentic Islam and the proper reading of the Koran are opposed to every form of violence. The problems of Christians and of Christendom for the past fourteen centuries have not been with radical Islam or Muslim extremists or Muslim terrorists or Islamists. |
The Problem is Islam Itself. |
At the most basic level of the Truth, the problem with Muhammed and his Islam is their rejection of the Only True God, Trinitarian and Triune, Eternally Father and Son and Holy Ghost. |
But to place the problem at a level and in a context also digestible for the secular agnosto-atheists who possibly predominate in the population of European Christendom and who certainly predominate within our present economic and political leadership, the problems are found in the doctrine, practice and way of life of Islam and its adherents from the year 610 until the present date. The problems originate in the life and the teachings of Muhammad. These enemies of Christ, His Church, His people and Christianity, and also of European Christendom and of Christendom universal, are not those individuals who have somehow distorted or perverted the teachings of Islam. Our enemies are the "good" Muslim individuals and societies, those who are following their religion.
Religious doctrine, the content of a faith, determines philosophy, political and other, the morals and the character of a civilization and the societies it is comprised of. Absurd attempts of latter-decade deconstructionists notwithstanding, the life and teachings of a religion's founder, and the textual transmissions following thereupon, determine the content of a religion and the character of a civilization embracing that religion. To be sure, individuals may reject those teachings, may decline to honor and emulate that life. This phenomenon is widely observed, to put the point mildly. And such individuals may and frequently do continue to declare themselves and think of themselves as adherents of that faith — Christians or Muslims or Jews or Buddhists — and as members of that faith community. But as a matter of objective truth, if, for example, a self-identifying Muslim were to reject the sanctity of the life, the teachings, the textual transmissions of and from Muhammad, such person would not be a Muslim. Regarding civilizations we can refer to historical experience. Islam and Muslim civilization, like Christianity and Christendom, in fact does still find its foundation rooted in the life and teachings and texts of and from its founder, Muhammad.
That the common man, the average Joe and the average Jane within European Christendom, would not have grasped the content and character of Islam is perhaps understandable, even salutary. Christians not employed as specialists in these areas of study should generally not waste their time exploring every heresy and error. But ignorance in religious, academic and political leaders regarding the real nature of Islam is a luxury which we can no longer afford .
That the democratically elected leaders of large and prosperous nation-states which make up so much of the currently dis-united European Christendom do not understand this is inexcusable. That George W. Bush, Gerhard Schröder, Tony Blair, Silvio Berlusconi and Jacques Chirac, with the resources that each had at his immediate disposal, would have failed to understand this at a crucial moment in history is incomprehensible. Even if everything else which they respectively did as leaders was exemplary — obviously such was not the case — such a failure means that there can be no favorable assessment of their tenures in office. They had no business being leaders. Their respective successors in office have not been better. And now going forward, if Christendom is to have any chance of survival as a civilization within the context of representative democracy every Christian is going to have to become a single-issue voter. Even if one's favored candidate is right on every other issue, such candidate can not be voted for if the candidate does not understand the threat from Islam and the fact that no Muslim can be invited to immigrate into any constituent part of European Christendom, zero additional Muslim immigrants, period, full-stop. |
But in fact the democratic processes within European Christendom will not work if United European Christendom is not embraced and embraced en mass. |

The unambiguous answer is found in the life and teachings of Muhammad and in how the circumstances of his life and the character of his teachings changed so dramatically over the course of a public ministry of twenty-two and a half years which began on 22 December 609 at the Cave of Hira near Mecca when Muhammad was about 40 years old and ended with his death in Medina at the age of 62 or 63 on 8 June 632. This public ministry was divided between two disparate periods of approximately equal length. [COMPLETE] |

"Let us trust Muslims. They are so pious. Invite them to immigrate into all our countries. Give them recognition, state awards for having many children. Invite their families back in the old country to join them. United families. That is it, we are family oriented. And any religion surely is better than no religion. Any religion itself can not be evil, right?
"Accepting Jesus as the Second Person of the One Essence of God, the only begotten Sod of God, is optional, Jesus is optional right? Ecumenical Jihad! Jesus can be added later, maybe. First things first. Focus on abortion and adultery. And we can learn so much from Muslims. And even if the people, their numbers and statistics and facts on the ground, which say that Muslims will take over our countries one after another in quick succession in the coming few decades, even if they are right, so what? Muslims respect diversity. They want to live in peace, as they have for 1400 years since the time of Muhammad and his very life. That is what Dar al-Islam means right, the world at peace? How beautiful. And they also won't be bitter that Christendom has had the upper hand for the past 500 years. This will have no effect at all on how they treat the People of the Book once Muslims are again calling the shots. Oh, I just feel so good about celebrating diversity, about tolerance and about me."
OK, enough of the farce for now.
Sadly, individuals such as this hypothetical speaker are not only hypothetical. They are everywhere to be found within a Church in deep spiritual confusion and crisis. Together with their kindred spirited professor-philosopher-theologians they make themselves into something absurd, heretical and grotesque, when, by way of striking example, they speak of Christianity–Islam comparisons in terms of, "The religion with the most saints will win the world." No ambiguity is intended. Reference here is to Kreeft, Chrislam and the Kuran-Kissin' Crowd. Public statements to the effect that (some of) those embracing and perpetuating Islam should be understood by the Church being saints, provided only that their devotion to their false religion is sincere and that they share with Christians some of the same moral precepts, such statements are manifestly heretical.
Distancing ourselves from Divinity through Indifferentism; supplanting the Source of Truth with Syncretism; creating confusion for Christian faithful for the aid and comfort of invaders of Christendom, these things somehow serve to reduce the quantity of concupiscence, to advance Catholic or Orthodox moral teaching, to help Christians in those struggles, overcoming those abiding temptations, with us from The Fall to The Parousia? To ask the question is to answer it. Of course Syncretism is no remedy for concupiscence!
The men spreading such evil and absurd teachings, be they lay or cleric, are manifest heretics, unless heresy can somehow be neutralized by absurdity. At all events, such nominal Christians, whether they should be shunned or laughed at, are not great minds. They do not deserve our gratitude or respect or discipleship.
Truth is found elsewhere. |

A Question Aside |
WHY?
Not why is it useful for these Muslim matters to be discussed, weighed, analyzed and exposed. That is obvious. But why is it appropriate to do so here, here on a website in support of a film about the unity of Christendom but much more so still about the re-unification of God's holy, orthodox, catholic, Orthodox-Catholic Church, The Church, the only Church, one, holy, catholic and apostolic?
Comes the answer: Because the way in which this matter — understanding Islam — among others, has been and is being handled by many of the episcopal leaders of the Orthodox-Catholic Church itself becomes an obstacle, a new obstacle, a gratuitous obstacle, a foolish and unnecessary obstacle, to the re-unification of the human element of The Church.
— The Church in its Divine and Eternal aspect, the Church Triumphant, is, of course, always united and can never be divided and is in need of no healing —
For the avoidance of doubt, and without regard to the views of the reader of these paragraphs or indeed the views of the writer of these paragraphs, if the episcopal college of leaders of any of:

is firmly and steadfastly resolved that the teachings of, by way of prime example, the Catholic Church dealing with understanding Islam is an impediment to re-unification, then indeed such is an impediment.
And many of them are so resolved.
This circumstance supplies the necessity for some treatment here of the topics of Muhammad, Islam and the Qur'an and for some rebuttal and rebuke to those Church leaders and other Christian leaders and non-Christian leaders within Christendom who have wilfully and culpably failed to understand Muhammad, Islam and the Qur'an, to the peril of Christendom, and Christian communities and families, though not of course of Christianity which is eternal. Indeed it is possible to conclude in some cases that such willful and culpable failure is so repeated, prolonged, obstinate and exorbitant as to call into question whether the leader in question possesses any wisdom, has achieved any holiness. But maybe not, maybe such a conclusion would go too far. Saints were often sinners. " ... [A]ll have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23

"Let there be no compulsion in religion: Truth stands out clear from Error: whoever rejects evil and believes in Allah hath grasped the most trustworthy hand-hold, that never breaks. And Allah heareth and knoweth all things. " |
At one level it is true that Islamic theology, law and practice have paid lip service to this dogma of no forced conversions throughout the history of Muhammad's movement. And it should also be added at the outset and then reiterated in countless contexts that the goal of Muhammad and the Muslims was not and is not, strickly speaking, the spread of the Islamic faith to and for all peoples, but the spread of Islamic political dominion and Sharia law. Indeed, were all conquered peoples to accept Islam — an impossibility under God — this would actually undermine the agenda of the conquering hordes. They would thereby lose the punative tax levied on non-Muslims, the Jizya, captured slave girls to be raped (and not counted against their allowable total of four wives) and generally the productivity of the much more scientifically, culturally and intellectually advanced Christian subjugated peoples. There would have been no foundation upon which the myth of the Golden Age of Islam could have been built.
Though this present short story on Islam includes a few quotations, a few case studies, a few pictures, its purpose will really not be very fully served unless it motivates the reader of these lines to take up one or a few of the book-length overviews written by Christian writers of integrity. For those wishing to expose, if only in their own minds, the liars within the Church and within the governments, universities and mass media of European Christendom, there simply will be no substitute for digesting hundreds of examples across fourteen centuries of time and over a vast swath of Earth's geography. Only such a study will give flesh to the simple skeletal synopsis that Muhammad's was a triple offer: (1) conversion to Islam, that is, acceptance of Muhammad's own authority to transmit divine doctrine; (2) acceptance of humiliating subjugation which could and did rise to a pitch to make life unbearable at any Muslim warlord's whim; or (3) death.
Even without extensive schooling in Muslim cynicism over centuries, one can readily see why conquering Muslim armies actually preferred that Option 2 would be selected en masse, leaving for some indefinite point in the far off future the spread of their actual faith. |
— This Verse 2:256 from the Qur'an, quoted endlessly by Muslims and by confused or sinister non-Muslim Islamophiles, is supremely misleading. This is not only because the verse itself is abrogated, like so many others, by the omnipresent Verse 9:5, the Verse of the Sword, the final and definitive authoritative utterance of Islam.

There is also the superstition of the Ishmaelites which to this day prevails and keeps people in error, being a forerunner of the Antichrist. They are descended from Ishmael, [who] was born to Abraham of Agar, and for this reason they are called both Agarenes and Ishmaelites. They are also called Saracens, which is derived from Sarras kenoi, or destitute of Sara, because of what Agar said to the angel: ‘Sara hath sent me away destitute.’ [99] These used to be idolaters and worshiped the morning star and Aphrodite, whom in their own language they called Khabár, which means great. [100] And so down to the time of Heraclius they were very great idolaters. From that time to the present a false prophet named Mohammed has appeared in their midst. This man, after having chanced upon the Old and New Testaments and likewise, it seems, having conversed with an Arian monk, [101] devised his own heresy. Then, having insinuated himself into the good graces of the people by a show of seeming piety, he gave out that a certain book had been sent down to him from heaven. He had set down some ridiculous compositions in this book of his and he gave it to them as an object of veneration. |
He says that there is one God, creator of all things, who has neither been begotten nor has begotten. [102] He says that the Christ is the Word of God and His Spirit, but a creature and a servant, and that He was begotten, without seed, of Mary the sister of Moses and Aaron. [103] For, he says, the Word and God and the Spirit entered into Mary and she brought forth Jesus, who was a prophet and servant of God. And he says that the Jews wanted to crucify Him in violation of the law, and that they seized His shadow and crucified this. But the Christ Himself was not crucified, he says, nor did He die, for God out of His love for Him took Him to Himself into heaven. [104] And he says this, that when the Christ had ascended into heaven God asked Him: ‘O Jesus, didst thou say: “I am the Son of God and God”?’ And Jesus, he says, answered: ‘Be merciful to me, Lord. Thou knowest that I did not say this and that I did not scorn to be thy servant. But sinful men have written that I made this statement, and they have lied about me and have fallen into error.’ And God answered and said to Him: ‘I know that thou didst not say this word.” [105] There are many other extraordinary and quite ridiculous things in this book which he boasts was sent down to him from God. But when we ask: ‘And who is there to testify that God gave him the book? And which of the prophets foretold that such a prophet would rise up?’—they are at a loss. And we remark that Moses received the Law on Mount Sinai, with God appearing in the sight of all the people in cloud, and fire, and darkness, and storm. And we say that all the Prophets from Moses on down foretold the coming of Christ and how Christ God (and incarnate Son of God) was to come and to be crucified and die and rise again, and how He was to be the judge of the living and dead. Then, when we say: ‘How is it that this prophet of yours did not come in the same way, with others bearing witness to him? And how is it that God did not in your presence present this man with the book to which you refer, even as He gave the Law to Moses, with the people looking on and the mountain smoking, so that you, too, might have certainty?’—they answer that God does as He pleases. ‘This,’ we say, ‘We know, but we are asking how the book came down to your prophet.’ Then they reply that the book came down to him while he was asleep. Then we jokingly say to them that, as long as he received the book in his sleep and did not actually sense the operation, then the popular adage applies to him (which runs: You’re spinning me dreams.) [106] |
When we ask again: ‘How is it that when he enjoined us in this book of yours not to do anything or receive anything without witnesses, you did not ask him: “First do you show us by witnesses that you are a prophet and that you have come from God, and show us just what Scriptures there are that testify about you”’—they are ashamed and remain silent. [Then we continue:] ‘Although you may not marry a wife without witnesses, or buy, or acquire property; although you neither receive an ass nor possess a beast of burden unwitnessed; and although you do possess both wives and property and asses and so on through witnesses, yet it is only your faith and your scriptures that you hold unsubstantiated by witnesses. For he who handed this down to you has no warranty from any source, nor is there anyone known who testified about him before he came. On the contrary, he received it while he was asleep.’ |
Moreover, they call us Hetaeriasts, or Associators, because, they say, we introduce an associate with God by declaring Christ to the Son of God and God. We say to them in rejoinder: ‘The Prophets and the Scriptures have delivered this to us, and you, as you persistently maintain, accept the Prophets. So, if we wrongly declare Christ to be the Son of God, it is they who taught this and handed it on to us.’ But some of them say that it is by misinterpretation that we have represented the Prophets as saying such things, while others say that the Hebrews hated us and deceived us by writing in the name of the Prophets so that we might be lost. And again we say to them: ‘As long as you say that Christ is the Word of God and Spirit, why do you accuse us of being Hetaeriasts? For the word, and the spirit, is inseparable from that in which it naturally has existence. Therefore, if the Word of God is in God, then it is obvious that He is God. If, however, He is outside of God, then, according to you, God is without word and without spirit. Consequently, by avoiding the introduction of an associate with God you have mutilated Him. It would be far better for you to say that He has an associate than to mutilate Him, as if you were dealing with a stone or a piece of wood or some other inanimate object. Thus, you speak untruly when you call us Hetaeriasts; we retort by calling you Mutilators of God.’ |
They furthermore accuse us of being idolaters, because we venerate the cross, which they abominate. And we answer them: ‘How is it, then, that you rub yourselves against a stone in your Ka’ba [107] and kiss and embrace it?’ Then some of them say that Abraham had relations with Agar upon it, but others say that he tied the camel to it, when he was going to sacrifice Isaac. And we answer them: ‘Since Scripture says that the mountain was wooded and had trees from which Abraham cut wood for the holocaust and laid it upon Isaac, [108] and then he left the asses behind with the two young men, why talk nonsense? For in that place neither is it thick with trees nor is there passage for asses.’ And they are embarrassed, but they still assert that the stone is Abraham’s. Then we say: ‘Let it be Abraham’s, as you so foolishly say. Then, just because Abraham had relations with a woman on it or tied a camel to it, you are not ashamed to kiss it, yet you blame us for venerating the cross of Christ by which the power of the demons and the deceit of the Devil was destroyed.’ This stone that they talk about is a head of that Aphrodite whom they used to worship and whom they called Khabár. Even to the present day, traces of the carving are visible on it to careful observers. |

As has been related, this Mohammed wrote many ridiculous books, to each one of which he set a title. For example, there is the book On Woman, [109] in which he plainly makes legal provision for taking four wives and, if it be possible, a thousand concubines—as many as one can maintain, besides the four wives. He also made it legal to put away whichever wife one might wish, and, should one so wish, to take to oneself another in the same way. Mohammed had a friend named Zeid. This man had a beautiful wife with whom Mohammed fell in love. Once, when they were sitting together, Mohammed said: ‘Oh, by the way, God has commanded me to take your wife.’ The other answered: ‘You are an apostle. Do as God has told you and take my wife.’ Rather—to tell the story over from the beginning—he said to him: ‘God has given me the command that you put away your wife.’ And he put her away. Then several days later: ‘Now,’ he said, ‘God has commanded me to take her.’ Then, after he had taken her and committed adultery with her, he made this law: ‘Let him who will put away his wife. And if, after having put her away, he should return to her, let another marry her. For it is not lawful to take her unless she have been married by another. Furthermore, if a brother puts away his wife, let his brother marry her, should he so wish.’ [110] In the same book he gives such precepts as this: ‘Work the land which God hath given thee and beautify it. And do this, and do it in such a manner” [111]—not to repeat all the obscene things that he did. |
Then there is the book of The Camel of God. [112] About this camel he says that there was a camel from God and that she drank the whole river and could not pass through two mountains, because there was not room enough. There were people in that place, he says, and they used to drink the water on one day, while the camel would drink it on the next. Moreover, by drinking the water she furnished them with nourishment, because she supplied them with milk instead of water. Then, because these men were evil, they rose up, he says, and killed the camel. However, she had an offspring, a little camel, which, he says, when the mother had been done away with, called upon God and God took it to Himself. Then we say to them: ‘Where did that camel come from?’ And they say that it was from God. Then we say: ‘Was there another camel coupled with this one?’ And they say: ‘No.’ ‘Then how,’ we say, ‘was it begotten? For we see that your camel is without father and without mother and without genealogy, and that the one that begot it suffered evil. Neither is it evident who bred her. And also, this little camel was taken up. So why did not your prophet, with whom, according to what you say, God spoke, find out about the camel—where it grazed, and who got milk by milking it? Or did she possibly, like her mother, meet with evil people and get destroyed? Or did she enter into paradise before you, so that you might have the river of milk that you so foolishly talk about? For you say that you have three rivers flowing in paradise—one of water, one of wine, and one of milk. If your forerunner the camel is outside of paradise, it is obvious that she has dried up from hunger and thirst, or that others have the benefit of her milk—and so your prophet is boasting idly of having conversed with God, because God did not reveal to him the mystery of the camel. But if she is in paradise, she is drinking water still, and you for lack of water will dry up in the midst of the paradise of delight. And if, there being no water, because the camel will have drunk it all up, you thirst for wine from the river of wine that is flowing by, you will become intoxicated from drinking pure wine and collapse under the influence of the strong drink and fall asleep. Then, suffering from a heavy head after sleeping and being sick from the wine, you will miss the pleasures of paradise. How, then, did it not enter into the mind of your prophet that this might happen to you in the paradise of delight? He never had any idea of what the camel is leading to now, yet you did not even ask him, when he held forth to you with his dreams on the subject of the three rivers. We plainly assure you that this wonderful camel of yours has preceded you into the souls of asses, where you, too, like beasts are destined to go. And there is the exterior darkness and everlasting punishment, roaring fire, sleepless worms, and hellish demons.’ |
Again, in the book of The Table, Mohammed says that the Christ asked God for a table and that it was given Him. For God, he says, said to Him: ‘I have given to thee and thine an incorruptible table.’ [113] |
And again, in the book of The Heifer, [114] he says some other stupid and ridiculous things, which, because of their great number, I think must be passed over. He made it a law that they be circumcised and the women, too, and he ordered them not to keep the Sabbath and not to be baptized. |
And, while he ordered them to eat some of the things forbidden by the Law, he ordered them to abstain from others. He furthermore absolutely forbade the drinking of wine. |

The Qur'an, also transliterated as Quran, Kuran and Koran, the "recitation", is the central religious text of Islam, purported by Muhammad and accepted by all Muslims to have been delivered in Arabic, exclusively and always privately, to Muhammad himself by Allah (god) through the angel Gabriel (Jibril), over a 23 year period beginning on 22 December 609 and continuing through Muhammad's death in 632. The Qur'an consists of 114 chapters ( Sura or Surah or Surat; plural Suwar ), divided into verses ( ayah; plural ayat ). |
Y: None of Our revelations do We abrogate or cause to be forgotten, but We substitute something better or similar: Knowest thou not that Allah Hath power over all things?
P: Nothing of our revelation (even a single verse) do we abrogate or cause be forgotten, but we bring (in place) one better or the like thereof. Knowest thou not that Allah is Able to do all things?
S: Whatever communications We abrogate or cause to be forgotten, We bring one better than it or like it. Do you not know that Allah has power over all things?
A. And for whatever verse We abrogate or cast into oblivion, We bring a better or the like of it; knowest thou not that God is powerful over everything? |

Quran 2:106 - translations by Abdullah Yusuf Ali
(Y); Marmaduke Pickthall
(P); Mohammad Habib Shakir (S); Arthur John Arberry (A). |
Self-identified specialists and assorted Islamophiles who fail to mention, early and often, this central-most concept in Quranic interpretation (including prominently those purporting to be Christians — even Catholic and, much less frequently, Orthodox Christians — that Fifth Column within the Church and Christendom) perform a good service for their readers. They in doing so identify themselves straight off as enemies of the truth.
Of course even the astute general reader, to say nothing of the unbiased specialist, will see at once the utterly incongruity theologically — and logically — of this foundational principle of Abrogation with another foundational proposition of Islam, that purporting that the Qur'an is god's final revelation, yes, but also the first book, recited to Muhammad from the eternal copy in heaven. Some Muslim scholars will even go further, claiming that the Qur'an is in fact uncreated. |
Why four translations presented here?
"The Qur'an only exists in Arabic, the language of god and heaven and Muhammad. It can only be read and understood in Arabic."
Presenting Quranic versus in four English-language translations — excuse me, interpretations, as the Qur'an can not be translated — here, and also in the presentation of the entire_Qur'an on a sister webpage, will not refute the absurd claim in the minds of Muslims that the Qur'an can only be read with understanding in Arabic. In fact nothing will convince Muslims. They simply need to be excluded from Christendom or defeated when attacking her, excepting only the circumstance in which saintly Christians choose to undertake the rarely surmounted dangers and difficulties of evangelizing Muslims. Four translations are presented in order to aid the understanding of and strengthen the presentation for non-Muslims. |
And why is this Principle of Abrogation of a significance impossible to overstate in regard to Quranic interpretation? |
Children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that antichrist is coming, so now many antichrists have come; therefore we know that it is the last hour. They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us; but they went out, that it might be plain that they all are not of us. But you have been anointed by the Holy One, and you all know. I write to you, not because you do not know the truth, but because you know it, and know that no lie is of the truth. Who is the liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, he who denies the Father and the Son. No one who denies the Son has the Father. He who confesses the Son has the Father also. Let what you heard from the beginning abide in you. If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, then you will abide in the Son and in the Father. And this is what he has promised us, eternal life.
--- 1 John 2:18-25 [emphasis added] --- |
But Vatican II and the Church of John Paul II, and his Catechism of the Catholic Church |
will have it otherwise: |
Citing and quoting Section 16 of Lumen Gentium the current Catechism of the Catholic Church at §841 states: |
“The Church's relationship with the Muslims. ‘The plan of salvation also includes those who acknowledge the Creator, in the first place amongst whom are the Muslims; these profess to hold the faith of Abraham, and together with us they adore the one, merciful God, mankind's judge on the last day.’ ”
But on a very closely related note, John Paul II's Catechism of the Catholic Church, in common with his 27-year pontificate, also flirts and skirts around dual-covenant-theology heresy vis-à-vis the atheist-cum-Talmudic Jews, JPII's "our elder brothers" nonsense . In his catechism only a couple of sections earlier, at §839, we find: |
“Those who have not yet received the Gospel are related to the People of God in various ways.” The relationship of the Church with the Jewish People. When she delves into her own mystery, the Church, the People of God in the New Covenant, discovers her link with the Jewish People, “the first to hear the Word of God.” The Jewish faith, unlike other non-Christian religions, is already a response to God's revelation in the Old Covenant. To the Jews "belong the sonship, the glory, the covenants, the giving of the law, the worship, and the promises; to them belong the patriarchs, and of their race, according to the flesh, is the Christ”, “for the gifts and the call of God are irrevocable.”
BUT in citing Romans 9-11 did not John Paul II's crew have an understanding exactly the opposite of that of Apostle Saint Paul? Was not Saint Paul in Romans Chapters 9 through 11 in fact writing that the Jews do indeed have many advantages, never to be revoked, so their culpability in rejecting Christ Jesus, in failing to learn and profit from those many advantages is all the greater? |
Clean out your headgear, Christians. In Muhammad's false religion ... |
All Christians go to Hell |
And it can be striking how quickly a verse can be abrogated after, effectively, its first promulgation by Muhammad. The Second Chapter of the Qur'an, Surah Al-Baqara, was the 87th chronologically. (With 286 verses, Sura 2 is the longest sura by a wide margin.) In Sura 2, we find this preeminently tolerant verse: |
Those who believe (in the Qur'an), and those who follow the Jewish (scriptures), and the Christians and the Sabians,- any who believe in Allah and the Last Day, and work righteousness, shall have their reward with their Lord; on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve. — Qur'an 2:62 |
Allah can hardly have leiway to reward anyone he has consigned to hell, so Christians and Jews, at least those among them devout and righteous in their own faiths, will go to heaven in the Theology of Islam, right? No, they will not! No Muslim religious authority or scholar has taught this for 1400 years. This verse was already abrogated by the Third Chapter of the Qur'an, Surah Al-i-Imran, the 89th chronologically, verse 3:85 of which provides: |
If anyone desires a religion other than Islam (submission to Allah), never will it be accepted of him; and in the Hereafter He will be in the ranks of those who have lost (all spiritual good). |
(In fact, it was abrogated already in later verses of Sura 2, such as 2:159: " Those who conceal the clear (Signs) We have sent down, and the Guidance, after We have made it clear for the people in the Book,-on them shall be Allah's curse, and the curse of those entitled to curse,") |
So it is by no means necessary to wait for the Forty-Eighth Chapter of the Qur'an, Surah Al-Fath, which was "revealed" to Muhammad near the very end, the 111th chronologically, and its verse 48:13: |
And if any believe not in Allah and His Messenger, We have prepared, for those who reject Allah, a Blazing Fire! (emphasis added) |
But wait, did not Verse 7:36 already have all people rejecting Muhammad in hell? (Sura 7 was 39th chronologically, so obviously much before Sura 2, which was 87th chronologically, and its Verse 2:62.) Muhammad's god, having Gabriel recite to Muhammad, who in turn is to recite to the universe of men, can not seem to make up his mind. And Islam would have it that the Qur'an is eternal, always existing in heaven. It is not an interactive response to facts unfolding on the ground. This is of course just another example from many why the Qur'an can not have been from God. This is clear. The bizarre thing is the percentage of humanity through 1405 years, or thereabouts, which has accepted that it was.
But back to the Muslim narrative:
Devout and righteous Monotheism, even that of Christianity, is not enough, Islam informs all humankind. Accept Muhammad or you go to hell! Plain, simple, unambiguous, taught by all religious authorities in Islam from its inception. (See also Qur'an verse 5:72.)
And this is the message that many Catholic priests and bishops and cardinals and popes want invited to have voice at Christian altars. This is the faith that promiennt Catholic professors of theology (well, one of them at least) assert(s) can produce saints! |
(translations in this section, those of Abdullah Yusuf Ali (Y)) |
Sounds good! Except that, like 2:62, it was abrogated: |
Say: O unbelievers! I do not serve that which you serve, Nor do you serve Him Whom I serve: Nor am I going to serve that which you serve, Nor are you going to serve Him Whom I serve: You shall have your religion and I shall have my religion. |
Islamic Tolerance, especially toward adherents of other Monotheistic, Abrahamic religions, the "People of the Book," Jews and Christians, and maybe Zoroastrians and Sabians, how modern, how exemplary, how enlightened! Well actually, no.
The ignorance concerning the doctrine, laws, and faith system of Islam, as well as of the entire history of Muslim civilization over 1400 years, which is betrayed by the sentiment expressed in the just preceding sentence is so complete, this sentiment and this sentence would be funny, but for the existential threat which Islam and Muslims pose to Christendom, together with a fact that a large percentage of the population of European Christendom and an even larger percentage of our political leaders actually believe this assertion.
Muhammad's cynical and hypocritical instruction to his followers to express reassurances of religious toleration to non-Muslims, as set forth in Chapter 109 of the Quran, an early Chapter from his time in Mecca (18th in chronological order out of 114 Chapters-Suwar), were intended even at the time made as an instruction to deceive. It was a tactical expedient, an instruction to express tolerance, not to practice tolerance. But even the instruction to utter such transparently deceptive rubbish to non-Muslims was abrogated later. By the time of the Verse of the Sword, after a decade of Muhammad's murderous rampage, though indeed much earlier, Muhammad could not possibly have hoped that the tolerance ruse would still be believed by anyone. Sura 9 was chronologically the second to last, the 113th Sura of the Qur'an, and the final, definitive word in Islam concerning the subjects therein dealt with. ( The very short Sura 110, chronologically the final, the 114th Sura, does not abrogate anything.) |
Qur'an verses 109:1-6 note Sura 109 was the 18th chronologically. |
Muslims lying to Non-Muslims is altogether righteous.
Deception of, false friendship toward, non-Muslims authorized by Muhammad's god: |
Any one who, after accepting faith in Allah, utters Unbelief,- except under compulsion, his heart remaining firm in Faith - but such as open their breast to Unbelief, on them is Wrath from Allah, and theirs will be a dreadful Penalty. |

Qur'an 16:106 |
Let not the believers Take for friends or helpers Unbelievers rather than believers: if any do that, in nothing will there be help from Allah: except by way of precaution, that ye may Guard yourselves from them. But Allah cautions you (To remember) Himself; for the final goal is to Allah. |

Qur'an 3:28 |
And then 109:1-6 is Abrogated by the Verse of the Sword, Verse 9:5, as well as other verses of the Qur'an too numerous to even cite here, essentially the entire Qur'an as well as the Hadith. (The Hadith are a vast, many-volume collection of statements by and about Muhammad, but not purporting, as in the case of the Suwar of the Qur'an, to have been divinely revealed through Gabriel. In Islamic doctrine, they are second only to the Qur'an in authoritative standing.) |

The Verse of the Sword
9:5 |
Ayah As-Sayf
No where in the Qur'an or in Islam is this fundamental principle of Quranic interpretation — the principle of abrogation — more important than in the case of the Verse of the Sword, the supreme verse of the entire Qur'an which was never, and never can be abrogated, but which has abrogated so much that came before.
Then, when the sacred months have passed, slay the idolaters wherever ye find them, and take them (captive), and besiege them, and prepare for them each ambush. But if they repent and establish worship and pay the poor-due (Jizya), then leave their way free. Lo! Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. |

Qur'an 9:5 - translation by Marmaduke Pickthall
(P) |
This is due both to the subject matter of the verse and to the chronological appearance of the verse. In principle a later verse (ayah) within the same chapter (sura) can abrogate an earlier verse of that chapter, but there are no Musliim scholars holding that any later verse of Sura-Chapter 9 abrogates its 5th Verse, the Verse of the Sword.
As far as later chapters, there is only one. Sura 9 is chronologically the 113th Sura of 114 total Suwar. (The final sura of the Qur'an chronologically, Sura 110, is very short, and it does not abrogate the Verse of the Sword or any other verse of the Qur'an. )
Verse 9:5, the Verse of the Sword, is the final word in Islam on this most seminal of Quranic subjects, violence toward non-Muslims. Jihad in the service of Muhammad's prophetship and the "divine revelation" that he alone received and recited is not restricted to the defensive and the reactive. Non-Muslims are to be sought out proactively, aggressively, violently, world-wide, always, until the Abode of Islam and the Abode of Peace — Dar al-Islam and Dar as-Salam — Muhammad's version of "peace" in which the moral code and religious law which is Sharia reign; everyone accepts Islam, that is, accepts Muhammad's prophetship, or among the dhimmis, the Christians and Jews or "People of the Book" if and only if they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued, that is, are submissive to life-long humiliation. - Quran 9:29.
In practice and across various schools of teaching, as across time and place, the situation could become more complicated and dhimmis status could be and was extended to people other than the monotheists, Hindus and Buddhists for example. As a practical matter, and nomadic raiders are an intensely practical lot, it was in the interests of Muslims and the prosperity of Islamic civilization that large swaths of conquered peoples not become Muslims but rather be heavily taxed and serve as a productive base from which extractions could be exacted. So too with the arts and other creative inputs. A very great deal of the fabled richness of Islamic culture was in fact the creative output and work product of subjugated Christians. Not an aside, by no means a detail to be ignored, this was the most essential feature of Muslim civilization. The greatness of the Islamic Empire was measured by the size and extent of the Christian populations it had subdued and could thereafter lord over and extract the productive surpluses from, or if necessary the essentials. Islam does not produce creative peoples, dynamic civilizations, but it is gloriously successful in producing ruthless overlords, and to be just also in the ability to recognize the value of the arts and sciences of others, appropriating such as their own. But more on this later.
Returning to Verse of the Sword and to the myriad of peaceful, tolerance-exhorting passages of the Qur'an — read, early-stage, temporary, tactical accommodations of Muhammad — which were abrogated and made forever thereafter null and void by this verse, the tally of verses abrogated by the Verse of the Sword is usually set at 124, and is never less than 113.
None of the forgoing is the product of recent scholarship. Book shelves are and for centuries have been full of works outlining and analyzing both the principle of Abrogation in Quranic interpretation and that principle's application to the Verse of the Sword. Of course this circumstance has not prevented very nearly every head of state and head of goverment within European Christendom for many decades running, along with their chief ministers and advisers, from being, or wishing to appear, completely ignorant about all of this. Not-very-liberal Liberals and Conservatives who do not conserve much alike have been plucking out abrogated verses to read to tens of millions of low-information Descendants of European Christendom throughout our civilization. Anything to maintain the tenuous truce, kick the can down the road and keep themselves in really good jobs, all the while the enemy gets more numerous and stronger with each passing year and we get weaker. This is not to rule out the possibility, likely the probability, that some of these leaders lead our civilizational descent not out of incompetence and ignorance, but out of deliberate diabolical design. |

"Let there be no compulsion in religion: Truth stands out clear from Error: whoever rejects evil and believes in Allah hath grasped the most trustworthy hand-hold, that never breaks. And Allah heareth and knoweth all things. "

From Qur'an 48:29 (Sura/Chapter 48 also being chronologically among the final, definitive chapters, 111th out of 114; the verse is not abrogated; Dar al-Islam — Muhammad's version of peace — means Muslims being compassionate to each other and ruthless to everyone else, whenever the opportunity presents itself.) |

In Islam women are not alike in dignity to, though different from, men, as in Christianity.
In Islam women are inferior, explicitly.
Men are superior to women on account of the qualities with which God hath gifted the one above the other, and on account of the outlay they make from their substance for them. Virtuous women are obedient, careful, during the husband's absence, because God hath of them been careful. But chide those for whose refractoriness ye have cause to fear; remove them into beds apart, and scourage them: but if they are obedient to you, then seek not occasion against them: verily, God is High, Great! - Qur'an Verse 4:34, translation of John Medows Rodwell -
By comparison to the way Muhammad has his god treating women in their persons – touching violence, domestic and otherwise, rape, Muslim "marriage", divorce and related matters – women are actually treated rather well in regard to property, by comparison that is. In judicial actions regarding property, contracts, commercial dealings and so forth, the testmony of a woman actually counts one half as much as that of a man, that is one man = two women. (Verse 2:282) Likewise with respect to inheritance, a daughter is to take one-half the share of a son. (Verse 4:11) (As also at 4:176)
Sexual chastiy in the Christian sense, complete avoidance of adultery and fornication, is utterly alien to Islam. Of course polygamy itself — mandated at Verse 4:3 — is dehumanizing for the women in these "marriages," but there are numerous Quranic verses, expanded in the Haddith, which mean that men are by no means limited to having sex with their (up to four) wives, any more than being in fact limited to four wives. Verse 4:24 is one such verse, according to which "god" and "his messenger," Muhammad, tell us that captive women, "whom the right hands of Muslim men possess," can be had, i.e., raped, at will.
[ADD Child Marriage; proving rape requires four male eye-witnesses; fiat divorce; women simply property of fathers, then husbands.; "god" coming to rescue with a new revelation (Ayah) when Muhammad wants to marry more that 4 simultaneously (without making rooom on the roster with divorce); when Muhammad wants to marry a six-year old (consumation when she is nine) (33:37 and 33:50). Political correct feminists-cum-Islamophiles are not-funny jokes.] |

Christian ladies being made to feel welcome and fully at home in Tehran.
Just kidding, it is Muslim women in Venice, and this 2012 photograph was taken years before the 2015 arrivals of Merkel's multi-million-Muslim-man reinforcements to Islam's Fifth Column in Europe, within European Christendom.
In dis-United half-European post-Christendom, this is thanks in large part to the work of recent Popes and their
assistant bishops throughout the world exhorting the faithful to "welcome the strangers" en masse,
a.k.a., to smiling on demographic replacement via Lampadusa, as if this is what was meant in the Bible.
Funny though, these immigrants, and the tensions, violence and dismalness coming with the multi-culti, are to be invited
into the neighbourhoods and schools of working Christians of modest means and not into episcopal palaces.

But perhaps a brief burka- aside can be useful for some of our celebrated social-conservative – cum – syncretist brothers. |

Actually no, it will not. They are too self-conceited and self-interested, too invested in their errors. But at least we might persuade others not to join their ranks. |
It is certainly true that any given burka might be conceiling a very beautiful woman, beauty which is reserved for her family, and in that special way which does not require elaboration, for her husband. A real Christian woman can allow these images to play through in the privacy of her own thoughts. Are both beauty and that particular kind of physical intimacy things which can be conserved or squandered? |

Thinking Christians, women and men, can only agree that in recent decades the West does not have the balance right. The Modernists have succeeded in having modesty thrown utterly to the wind. Long ago this sunk far below being just about the bare-it-all bikini on the beach being reduced to strings and patches. It has invaded children's schools and the Church herself. But even on the beaches and the streets of Christendom, what kind of a man want's his granddaughter or daughter or wife or sister or mother to be the object of licentious gawking? With apologies to the girl from ipanema, how can one understand the character of a woman who strives to excite every man she passes? And then what happens? A woman comes home from a day of displaying herself to the world exhausted for her husband? How many hours of a lifetime are spent with that face painting? How much more tiring are ten kilometers walked on those six-inch heels? And macro-wise, how are our fertility rates measuring up to those of Muslim families and to the civilization of Islam? True, the Burka is an extreme solution, and a de-individualizing, and therefore de-humanizing one. One can discern a parallel to the prohibition on all beer and wine: Because some people can not drink in moderation, bane it altogether for everyone, and forget individual judgement and sovereignty. But if the issue is civilizational survival, might one conclude that clear-cut lines, if seeminly extreme lines, such as manifest metaphorically and literally in the Burka do work, and that the Church and Christendom should take a lession from Islam on all this? |
Well actually, no. |
The anwer lies in a rejection of Modernism and a rediscovery of Christian principles of modesty in dress and behavior. Islam does not have a model to offer to Christianity or Christendom regarding relations between men and women. There is one point, stark and simple and dispositive: |
If the man's ultimate aspiration is to attain to a bordello paradise the essence of which is engrossment in polygamous copulation there is no marital love. |
Against this truth central within the essence of Islam, all talk of modesty becomes meaningless. Muslim men do not value modesty in any sense meaningful to Christian sacramental marriage or to relations between men and women generally. Women in Islam cannot be modest because they are not (understood as) human. They are a special kind of animal or even machine. This is Islam. |
To what extent individuals and individual families who self-identify as being Muslim internalize or ignore the essence of their inherited religious doctrines is another matter. |

— the Mohammedan never becomes a Catholic - Hilaire Belloc, The Great Heresies (1936) ... well actually, sometimes he does:
As with Prince Chet, Tartar convert to Orthodox Christianity and the founder in 1330 of the Holy Trinity Ipatiev Monastery in Kostroma.
Как с мурзоюем Чета, татарин конвертировать в Православие и основателя в 1330 году Святой Троицы Ипатьевского Монастыря в Костроме |
Mohammedanism ... began as a heresy, not as a new religion. It was a perversion of Christian doctrine. [T]hose who were contemporary with its rise saw it for what it was-not a denial, but an adaptation and a misuse, of the Christian thing. ... It did not rise within the Church, that is, within the frontiers of our civilization. Its heresiarch was not a man originally Catholic who led away Catholic followers by his novel doctrine as did Arius or Calvin. He was an outsider born a pagan, living among pagans, and never baptized. He adopted Christian doctrines and selected among them in the true heresiarch fashion. He dropped those that did not suit him and insisted on those that did-which is the mark of the heresiarch-but he did not do this as from within; his action was external. ... But that which he taught was in the main Catholic doctrine, oversimplified. It was the great Catholic world-on the frontiers of which he lived, whose influence was all around him and whose territories he had known by travel-which inspired his convictions. He came of, and mixed with, the degraded idolaters of the Arabian wilderness, the conquest of which had never seemed worth the Romans' while.
He took over very few of those old pagan ideas which might have been native to him from his descent. On the contrary, he preached and insisted upon a whole group of ideas which were peculiar to the Catholic Church and distinguished it from the paganism which it had conquered in the Greek and Roman civilization. Thus the very foundation of his teaching was that prime Catholic doctrine, the unity and omnipotence of God. The attributes of God he also took over in the main from Catholic doctrine: the personal nature, the all-goodness, the timelessness, the providence of God, His creative power as the origin of all things, and His sustenance of all things by His power alone. The world of good spirits and angels and of evil spirits in rebellion against God was a part of the teaching, with a chief evil spirit, such as Christendom had recognized. Mohammed preached with insistence that prime Catholic doctrine, on the human side-the immortality of the soul and its responsibility for actions in this life, coupled with the consequent doctrine of punishment and reward after death. ... He gave to Our Lord the highest reverence, and to Our Lady also, for that matter. On the day of judgment (another Catholic idea which he taught) it was Our Lord, according to Mohammed, who would be the judge of mankind, not he, Mohammed. The Mother of Christ, Our Lady, "the Lady Miriam" was ever for him the first of
womankind. ...
But the central point where this new heresy struck home with a mortal blow against Catholic tradition was a full denial of the Incarnation.
Mohammed did not merely take the first steps toward that denial, as the Arians and their followers had done; he advanced a clear affirmation, full and complete, against the whole doctrine of an incarnate God. He taught that Our Lord was the greatest of all the prophets, but still only a prophet: a man like other men. He eliminated the Trinity altogether.
With that denial of the Incarnation went the whole sacramental structure. He refused to know anything of the Eucharist, with its Real Presence; he stopped the sacrifice of the Mass, and therefore the institution of a special priesthood. In other words, he, like so many other lesser heresiarchs, founded his heresy on simplification.
Mohammed's teaching never developed among the mass of his followers, or in his own mind, a detailed theology. He was content to accept all that appealed to him in the Catholic scheme and to reject all that seemed to him, and to so many others of his time, too complicated or mysterious to be true. Simplicity was the note of the whole affair; and since all heresies draw their strength from some true doctrine, Mohammedanism drew its strength from the true Catholic doctrines which it retained: the equality of all men before God-"All true believers are brothers." It zealously preached and throve on the paramount claims of justice, social and economic. |

And round about them will (serve) youths of perpetual (freshness): If thou seest them, thou wouldst think them scattered Pearls. And when thou lookest, it is there thou wilt see a Bliss and a Realm Magnificent. Upon them will be green Garments of fine silk and heavy brocade, and they will be adorned with Bracelets of silver; and their Lord will give to them to drink of a Wine Pure and Holy. "Verily this is a Reward for you, and your Endeavour is accepted and recognised."
Qur'an Verses 76:19-22 (and see in the
same vein Verses 52:24 and 56:17)
No mere servant boys – normal men would not need or want pretty-boys, in green silk and bejeweled, and plied with wine in constant attendance ... for ever – Verses 76:19-22 contain one of the Qur'anic installments of Muhammad's bizarre bow to pederasty. And this is after all consistent at one level with his entire conception of a bordello heaven: that which is forbidden, or just not available, on Earth is indulged in with complete abandone within Muhammad's transmogrified paradise. But lest the Homomafia and assorted "gay-marriage" enthusiasts within European Christendom and within the priestly and episcopal ranks of the Church start imagining that they have potential allies within Dar-al-Islam, forget it. "Love" or "gay marriage" or open homosexuality between or among adult men is celebrated by Muslims of all stripes by promplty stoning to death all involved. |

John Quincy Adams, Sixth President of the United States (and son of the 2nd), serving from 4 March 1825 to 4 March 1829, who some have posited is the most intelligent man to have served in the office:
— "In the seventh century of the Christian era, a wandering Arab of the lineage of Hagar [Muhammad, or as JQA transliterated, Mahomet], the Egyptian, combining the powers of transcendent genius, with the preternatural energy of a fanatic, and the fraudulent spirit of an impostor, proclaimed himself as a messenger from Heaven, and spread desolation and delusion over an extensive portion of the earth. Adopting from the sublime conception of the Mosaic law, the doctrine of one omnipotent God; he connected indissolubly with it, the audacious falsehood, that he was himself his prophet and apostle. Adopting from the new Revelation of Jesus, the faith and hope of immortal life, and of future retribution, he humbled it to the dust, by adapting all the rewards and sanctions of his religion to the gratification of the sexual passion. He poisoned the sources of human felicity at the fountain, by degrading the condition of the female sex, and the allowance of polygamy; and he declared undistinguishing and exterminating war, as a part of his religion, against all the rest of mankind. THE ESSENCE OF HIS DOCTRINE WAS VIOLENCE AND LUST: TO EXALT THE BRUTAL OVER THE SPIRITUAL PART OF HUMAN NATURE. Between these two religions, thus contrasted in their characters, a war of twelve hundred years has already raged. That war is yet flagrant; nor can it cease but by the extinction of that imposture, which has been permitted by Providence to prolong the degeneracy of man. While the merciless and dissolute dogmas of the false prophet shall furnish motives to human action, there can never be peace upon earth, and good will towards men. The hand of Ishmael will be against every man, and every man’s hand against him. It is, indeed, amongst the mysterious dealings of God, that this delusion should have been suffered for so many ages, and during so many generations of human kind, to prevail over the doctrines of the meek and peaceful and benevolent Jesus. (1830, emphasis in the original)" —
