Greek, Roman, Kievan Rusan, Imperial Russian, Orthodox and Catholic, and hewn and build,

Chersonesus – Χερσόνησος (contracted in Medieval Greek as Χερσών – Корсунь – Korsun).

Άγιος Πάπας Κλήμης Α΄ – Clemens I Romanus – Климент I – Pope Saint Clement I

Consecrated by Apostle Saint Peter, the Liber Pontificalis lists Saint Clement as the fourth
pope (r. 92 to 99), the third successor after Peter, after Saints Linus and Anacletus/Cletus.
Saint Cyril together with his brother Methodius - Κύριλλος καὶ Μεθόδιος / Кѷриллъ и Меѳодїи
- Catholic Patron Saints of Europe and Orthodox Equals to the Apostles - равноапостольные
brought the relics of Saint Clement to Rome, where they are now with those of Saint Cyril himself,
and those of Saint Ignatius of Antioch, in the Basilica of San Clemente Basilica di San Clemente.
Except for the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem and the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem,
it is difficult to imagine a place of more symbolic historical significance for the unity of the
Orthodox-Catholic Church which once was and can and should be again, and which is therefore also
a prized target for those forces of evil who would sow dissension in the Church and in Christendom.

  once Churchs now rubble
... the British and French (and with great regret, Sardinian) contribution to Pope Saint Clement's monastery: piles of rubble where Churches once stood, as peoples who should have been brothers and allies of Orthodox Russia chose instead to take the side of the Muslim Turks in the Crimean War of October 1853 – February 1856, reminiscent also of German choices in World War I. Not the whole story, but worth bearing in mind as Russian sensibilites and behaviors even in 2014 are interpreted.

But the British, since their XVI Century revolt against Christian unity and against many centuries of their own ancestors, have often been fond of militarily aiding the Muslim against the brother Christian. Witness their outrage in effectively awarding ... Artsakh, Armenian for thousands of years, to the Turkic Muslim Azeris, following the collapse of the Ottoman Empire, a policy ratified a short time later by the Bolshevik Red Army, largely to placate the Turks. The creation of the Nagorno-Karabakh Autonomous Oblast within Soviet Azerbaijan in 1923-1924 to some extent mooted the issue until the fall of the Soviet Union in the early 1990s.

Therefore, my brethren, whom I love and long for, my joy and crown, stand firm thus in the Lord, my beloved. I entreat Eu-o'dia and I entreat Syn'tyche to agree in the Lord. And I ask you also, true yokefellow, help these women, for they have labored side by side with me in the gospel together with Clement and the rest of my fellow workers, whose names are in the book of life. Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice. Let all men know your forbearance. The Lord is at hand.

This Church not in Inkerman, but rather in Pskov.
Church of Pope Saint Clement in Pskov

Perhaps dating even to the first half of the XIV century (see «Историческая топография Пскова в XIV-XV веках» 1985 г.), pictured is the Church of Pope Saint Clement in Pskov – Храм Климента Папы Римского в Пскове, dedicated also to Archbishop of Alexandria and martyr, Saint Peter of Alexandria (311 †. ) Please forgive me if I am being childish. The unresolved issues are many and serious, but I experience a wave of joy everytime I see a Supreme Pontiff so honored in Russia. This church I stumbled onto on Holy Saturday of 2016, according to the Catholic Calendar, but this picture is from 10 April. To the viewers right and hidden in the trees one can see, at about 2 kilometers' distance and across the Velikaya River–the Great River–Река Великая, the Trinity Cathedral – Троицкий Собор inside the XV century Pskov Kremlin – Псковский Кром.
