Catholics ... must not forget that all roads lead to God. And they will have to accept that this courageous idea of freethinking, which we can really call a revolution, pouring forth from our Masonic lodges, has spread magnificently over the dome of St. Peter’s.

Creditis in Deum, et in me credite!».

"... From some fissure the smoke of Satan has entered the temple of God. ... Doubt has entered our consciences, and entered for windows instead had to be opened to the light. ... It was believed that after the Council there would be a sunny day for the history of the Church. It came instead a day of clouds, stormy, dark, research, uncertainty. We preach ecumenism and we depart more and more from others. We try to dig abysses instead of closing them. "

Meditation

What can the third fall of Jesus under the Cross say to us? We have considered the fall of man in general, and the falling of many Christians away from Christ and into a godless secularism. Should we not also think of how much Christ suffers in his own Church? How often is the holy sacrament of his Presence abused, how often must he enter empty and evil hearts! How often do we celebrate only ourselves, without even realizing that he is there! How often is his Word twisted and misused! What little faith is present behind so many theories, so many empty words! How much filth there is in the Church, and even among those who, in the priesthood, ought to belong entirely to him! How much pride, how much self-complacency! What little respect we pay to the Sacrament of Reconciliation, where he waits for us, ready to raise us up whenever we fall! All this is present in his Passion. His betrayal by his disciples, their unworthy reception of his Body and Blood, is certainly the greatest suffering endured by the Redeemer; it pierces his heart. We can only call to him from the depths of our hearts: Kyrie eleison — Lord, save us (cf. Matthew 8: 25).

Prayer

Lord, your Church often seems like a boat about to sink, a boat taking in water on every side. In your field we see more weeds than wheat. The soiled garments and face of your Church throw us into confusion. Yet it is we ourselves who have soiled them! It is we who betray you time and time again, after all our lofty words and grand gestures. Have mercy on your Church; within her too, Adam continues to fall. When we fall, we drag you down to earth, and Satan laughs, for he hopes that you will not be able to rise from that fall; he hopes that being dragged down in the fall of your Church, you will remain prostrate and overpowered. But you will rise again. You stood up, you arose and you can also raise us up. Save and sanctify your Church. Save and sanctify us all.

And Post Script on the same: The in-days-about-to-be-completed pontificate which supplied the context for Cardinal Ratzinger's dire observations on the then State of the Church deserved to be beatified by him as Pope Benedict XVI, then canonized by Pope Francis ?!?

“I studied and read so many things about what we used to call the salvation of Pagans; how are these unbelievers saved? In the 11th Century we were given the theology of baptism of desire, but when you travel the world, visit leper colonies, see human beings fighting with vultures in the garbage heaps of Latin America… when I saw all these things I never saw so many Christs in my life. I saw them everywhere. Maybe I saw more there than here, but in a different way. When you say that they do not know Christ, they do not need to know.”
Extreme heretical statement attributed, possibly falsely, to one of the most famous Catholics of the XX century, candidate for sainthood, Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen (8 May 1895 – 9 December 1979). Please investigate.

In Yorkville in Manhattan in New York City a Church offering all of 15 minutes per week for Confession
A reigning pope visits a small Church in Yorkville in Manhattan
A miserable, blasphemous, price-gouging, apostate institution, yes, but they are hardly likely to exaggerate in this direction, and so if Georgetown University's Center for Applied Research in the Apostolate is to be believed, as of 2008 seventy-five percent of Catholics go to Confession, participate in the Sacrament of Reconciliation, "never" or "less than once a year".

Whoever, therefore, eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of profaning the body and blood of the Lord. 28 Let a man examine himself, and so eat of the bread and drink of the cup. 29 For any one who eats and drinks without discerning the body eats and drinks judgment upon himself.
  1 Corinthians 11:27-29

So in essence, with this and countless other spirit of Vatican II– Churches throughout Christendom, a faithful Orthodox-Catholic Christian is faced with a real and serious dilemma, because a particular Church is not supposed to be a place whose pastor designs worship in such a way that almost everyone attending and receiving the Sacrament is doing so to his and her own condemnation.

Before the Second Vatican Council and Paul IV's and John Paul II'sspirit of Vatican II,” a priest in the confessional for ten hours every week was the common feature of Catholic Churches. Offering the Sacrament of Reconciliation was linked with celebrating Mass, the chief duty of a priest, the reason for having priests. In our, late XX – eary XXI century, in a very great many, perhaps the overwhelming majority of Catholic Churches (or buildings purporting to be), at least those in "the West," there is NEVER a priest in a confessional. Confession is available, if at all, by appointment.
